The MAABC boathouse is an absolutely fantastic venue that can be hired for private events with up to 120 guests for a buffet or up to 60 for a sit-down meal.  We can supply bar staff and help you arrange everything to make sure your event is a success with contacts for caterers, fireworks, and marquees.

The club rooms are situated on the first floor and open onto a very large, south facing  balcony wrapping round the club rooms and overlooking the river making it ideal for warm spring and summer evenings.   The Lawson Room is the main room, with a fully licensed bar, and can be hired separately or in conjunction with the adjoining smaller Geof Carney Room.  The Geof Carney Room can be hired separately for smaller events or meetings and there are tables and seating for 16.  Bands and DJs can be accommodated or there is a music system that can be used with the organisers’ play lists.  MAABC has its own carpark with spaces for 20 cars with additional carparking available in the adjacent public car park at River Gate.

Evening events can be held on any day of the week, but daytime events are limited to weekdays only.   MAABC do not offer catering but there is a kitchen that can be used by caterers for events.

Access to the venue is via a wide staircase with handrails on both sides but there is no dedicated disabled access to the first floor.

We have experience in hosting a large variety of events, including the Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race prize giving, dragon boat racing, company team-building events as well as birthday parties and wedding receptions. We are also near Mortlake Cemetery and host wakes which can be organised privately or through funeral directors.

We are unable accommodate parties for children or young people under the age of 25 and we also cannot host weddings at weekends.
