Over 50 boats taking part in the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant spent the night at MAABC on Saturday 2nd June, before setting off from the club on Sunday morning to join the flotilla of boats taking part in what was an amazing spectacle along the Thames. Despite the rather typical British weather, everyone was very excited to be taking part, and watching the crews set off from the club was quite a sight.
Many thanks indeed to all the MAABC volunteers who helped out over the weekend, hauling boats up on to the lawn, assisting crews with boating, and providing sausage and bacon sandwiches and tea and coffee to participants before they set off – this was all very much appreciated!
