MAABC on Gloriana

On Sunday 24th September the sun shone for MAABC’s outing on the Queen’s Rowbarge Gloriana, created to mark her Diamond Jubilee. Some 19 rowers and a dozen passengers assembled as per organiser Peter Robert’s instructions on the dot of 10am (well give or take 25 minutes), all successfully clad in MAA kit (though of varying era and number of layers). Wins for Masters Women at Henley T&V and Stourport Regattas

Henley Town & Visitors provided wins at both WMas D & E doubles for the Masters Women's squad, continuing their very successful 2013 season. Helen Mangan and Nicky Dale won at WMas D2x, with Alice Poole and Louise Pattison taking the WMas E 2x win. Alice and Louise were competing against an older, WMas F, crew so there was a staggered start, with the MAABC crew being set off behind their opponents. Multiple wins at Henley Masters Regatta!

Henley Masters Regatta brought a fantastic two days of racing for the Mortlake women with a record number of entries from the club, including 3 singles, a composite double, 3 quads and a composite 8. And great success for the women Masters racing group who marked the end to a fabulous season with 2 wins! Racing started on the Friday, with mainly heats and some semifinals. Masters Women’s squad win at Marlow

The Masters Women’s squad had yet another good day of racing at Marlow Regatta, held at Eton Dorney on Sunday 16th June. Following on from their success at British National Masters, Laura Campbell, Chrissie Greenhalgh, Anna Ramsden & Jo Gapper competed in straight finals at both WMas C IM3 4x and WMas C 4x. The MAA crew finished ahead of Wallingford and Ardingly to win the IM3 event and, then improving on their previous times at Nottingham, gained a convincing win against Falcon in the championship level race. 1 Gold & 2 Silvers at British National Masters!

The Masters Women's squad travelled to Nottingham for the British National Masters on Sunday 19th May. Reaping the benefits of excellent training over recent months,  Laura Campbell, Chrissie Greenhalgh, Anna Ramsden & Jo Gapper got off to a great start in their straight final of WMasC IM3 4x, beating Falcon, the previous year’s winners, by a length. Anna and Fran win WSen 2x at Pairs Head

The 2012/13 season has got off to a great start with some fantastic racing at Pairs Head. We had 9 crews racing this year across a range of categories. Full MAA results are set out below - congratulations to Anna and Fran who won W Sen 2x in an excellent performance just a couple of weeks before the Diamond Jubilee British Rowing Championships.
