A busy club weekend and some great results.Stand out performance from Saturday’s Fours Head was the 4x of Rebecca, Jen, Katy B and Jade – who came 4th out of 23 crews in Women’s Club 4x. The other 4x and the 4- also finished in fast times and confirmed this year’s squad is making very good progress.Sunday saw a large turn out of club Masters crews in the oldies race, with Rebecca and Katy racing again, this time with Claire and Tina (friend from Boston) to easily win WB4x. The WD4x of Caroline, Anna, Kat and Jo G also won comfortably in a large field of 12 crews, while the WF4x of Sarah, Ailie (friend from Scotland), Nicky and me won by only 2 secs over TSS (albeit in a time that would have won WE4x). And Lee’s composite crew with Dart Totnes and Quintin won H4x by over a minute. It was also great to see mens and mixed crews from the club racing – the G mixed crew who posted an excellent time being unlucky to have no oppo in their event. A special thanks to Jo Gapper, who provided very welcome food in the form of jacket potatoes after yesterday’s event and ensured that lots of us, including our very impressed visitors, stayed on in the bar afterwards.Thanks again to all the many helpers over the weekend.Hilary
