Firstly, many thanks to everyone who helped make yesterday’s race work so well. Races can’t run without lots of volunteers and we provided launch drivers and marshals in the form of Luke, Hannah and Chris while Sharika and Barry ran around the beach collecting wellies and numbers and Keith sorted out lots of visiting clubs (proving we can (just) fit 4 trailers on our lawn) and Giselle provided the visitors with refreshments and the sun shone and everyone was friendly and we had some lovely compliments from our visitors.   One of these came from the City of Cambridge mixed double who rented Rupert Brown – an older Janousek and which lives outside. I am sure the boat loved going racing again! Proof of quite how good our fleet is that even our oldest boats are race worthy. We had 4 wins plus a lot of second and third places from our entries. Izzy and Zoë won Women’s Masters B 2x,  Anna and Jo Women’s Masters D2x, Caroline and Kat Women’s Masters E2x and Tom and I won Mixed Masters F/G/H2x.  The fastest club crew by some way was Jen and Rebecca – but whose large no of points gained in the past year meant they were in Championship 2x against GB internationals and where they came third. Very pleasing to see they beat Bath University (the club they lost to at HWR).Next up racing wise for the club is the Vet Fours and Fours Heads, respectively on 4 and 5 November.Happy training!Hilary
