Membership subscription renewal 2012 Submission of the Renewal Form is mandatory for renewal of membership. Your membership will be deemed to lapse if both payment and the Renewal Form are not received by 29th February. If a member allows their membership to lapse then he/she will be required to re-apply and be re-elected as a member. Please note Rule 6 (v) requires that “any member whose membership has lapsed through non-renewal but who applies to renew their membership before the end of July of the calendar year in which it has lapsed shall be liable to pay a full year’s subscription fee for that calendar year”. Late payers (members who submit their Renewal Form and payment after 31st January but before 29th February) and lapsed members will be liable for a late payment fee of 5% of their subscription fee per month (accumulating basis). Payment by instalments A payment by instalments option is available, but only by the cheque method of payment (please see the Renewal Form for full details). ALL cheques MUST be submitted at the time of renewal. If all cheques are not submitted at this time then the renewal request will be INVALID and membership will NOT be renewed. Optional additional donations and Gift AidAs discussed at the 2011 AGM, there will be a new section on the Renewal Form this year inviting additional donations from members. This is entirely voluntary, but any donations would be very gratefully received. The club is also able to claim Gift Aid on any additional donations, which increases the value to the club by 20% (i.e. a £10 donation is worth £12.50 to the club). A Gift Aid form is available to download below. If you are interested in setting up a regular donation (e.g. monthly or quarterly) via standing order, rather than a one-off donation, please speak to Luke Howells or Ruth Sander. If you already know which group you fit into, read on here for application details, otherwise look at our squads and coaching page, to see how the club is structured. We have a home for most rowers from beginners to international aspirants and back to those who enjoy a sociable paddle. Potential new members (active rowers not beginners) must fill in a Potential members are then welcome to trial any activities for a month without any obligation or cost. The membership form should be put on the Secretary's noticeboard in the Lawson Room. After a month, to convert this to full membership application, just ask two club members to propose and second your application, by signing your form. The completed form should be moved to the left on the right hand side of the board. You should arrange payment with the Treasurer. A cheque for the correct amount (see table for amount), with your name and what it is payment for, is the best way, or give the payment to any of the authorised people (see list below). Our Rules state that your application form should be on display in the Clubhouse for 14 days prior to being considered at a Committee Meeting (first Wednesday of each month). At the next committee meeting your application will be considered for membership. You must be a member to race for us!
